Top Reasons to Join the Sports Backers Half Marathon Training Team

Head Coach Ro Gammon provides some great reasons to join the Sports Backers Half Marathon Training Team before registration closes on August 18 (Hint: it involves pizza and beer).


RO’S TOP REASONS TO RUN A HALF MARATHON

-You will be in the best shape of your life without having to run 20 milers

-You will have time after your long Saturday runs to go home and tackle your to-do list

-You can party on Saturday nights without having to take a nap on Saturday afternoon

-On race day you get to the pizza and BEER before most of the marathoners come in

-Some of us like to do things half way

-Sometimes we are just not ready to eat the whole enchilada…so we eat half now and save the rest for later

-Most importantly, you might be going half the distance of the marathon, but the joy and pleasure at the finish line is just as sweet!

The Half Marathon Training Team is a fourteen-week program designed to prepare members for the American Family Fitness Half Marathon on November 10th. Members receive personal training schedules and advice from an experienced team of coaches and participate in weekly group runs downtown. The cost for joining the team covers the registration fee for the American Family Fitness Half Marathon. The deadline to register is August 18.
