Trails & Ales Event Info

The 8 mile and 5k courses begin and end at the craft brew festival in Manchester at 10th and Semmes. Runners should be prepared for a fun but technical course that will take them over rocks and roots, through mud and sand, and over the natural obstacles on these single track trails.

Please note: There is a 1,000 person cap for this event, and there is a two hour time limit. 


Block One (for the first 300 entrants) – Opens in early summer
5k: $30
8 Miler: $40

Block Two through August 15
5k: $35
8 Miler: $45

Block Three from August 16 – September 30
5k: $40
8 Miler: $50

Race Week registration beginning October 1
5k: $45
8 Miler: $55

Cost includes:

  • Chip timing
  • One complimentary beer of your choice (additional beer available for purchase)
  • Stainless steel finisher cup

Entries are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be deferred to another year. Sorry y’all, but no dogs allowed on the course. They are welcome to attend the fest with you afterwards.

If you’d like to switch your distance after signing up you will be charged any price difference, and a $5 switching fee.  

Craft Beer

Runners will be awarded frothy local brews at the finish line. Each participant will receive one complimentary beverage of their choice. Represented breweries include Alwerks Brewing Company, South Street Brewery, Stone Brewing and Ballast Point Brewing Company.

Not running? No worries! We welcome those who are just here for the beer! Drink tickets will be available for purchase before and after the event.

Please note: Consumption of alcoholic beverages before the event is prohibited. A photo ID is required to purchase beer tickets.

Packet Pick Up

Packet pick up will be held at 10th and Semmes on Saturday, October 5, beginning at 2:30 p.m. and will end when the race begins. Walk up registration will also be available at this time if the race has not yet reached capacity.

A photo ID is required to pick up your race packet. You may pick up a race packet for another pre-registered runner, provided you have a copy, or picture on your phone, of their photo ID.

Results will be posted here after the event.


Awards will be given in both the 8 miler and 5k to the top three finishers in each age group, male and female. Age groups are: 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & up
