Hundreds of cyclists. Two days. One epic journey.

This 156-mile adventure takes cyclists from the capital of Virginia to the capital of the nation, with an overnight stop in Fredericksburg. Along the route, expect to pedal through historic neighborhoods, rolling countryside, inviting riverfront districts, beautiful wildlife management areas, and bikeway and trail networks. The grand finale on day two is a treat, ending with a finish festival in Gateway Park.

7 a.m. - Ride begins

This advocacy ride gives you more than bragging rights, it gives you the opportunity to “Bike for Your Right” towards safe and accessible bike infrastructure throughout the Commonwealth. We’ve learned from cities and counties all over the world that the biggest barrier for people to bike and walk on a daily basis is that they don’t feel safe on the roads. But by building the right type of walkways and bikeways, people will feel encouraged, comfortable, and confident riding their bike for any reason.

This is exactly why RVA2DC has partnered with Bike Walk RVA, Washington Area Bicycle Association, the East Coast Greenway Alliance, the League of American Bicyclists, and Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling
