Mr. Marcos F. Irigaray
Vice President of Strategy & Marketing, VCU Health System
Marcos is Vice President of Strategy, Marketing, & Enterprise Analytics for the VCU Health System. The system offers services that help meet fundamental requirements of the VCU Health System—one of only two nationally recognized Level I Trauma Centers in the state and the only one in central Virginia.
As an active member of the Richmond community, Marcos was drawn to serving on the Sports Backers Board in 2013 because he believes an active lifestyle is something that is beneficial to both the individual and the community. Marcos also enjoys the clarity of the Sports Backers name—“the organization does as it is labeled. It supports and advocates for an active life for the communities it serves.”
Marcos’ family—his wife and three sons—are all active and engaged in some form of sports or regular exercise activity. His football career brought him to the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984. He received a Master of Health Administration from Duke University in 1989.
