Fitness Warriors Partner with Virginia State University to Bring Free Classes to the Community
We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership between Fitness Warriors and Virginia State University, bringing free, high-energy fitness classes to the university and the surrounding community. These offerings are part of our ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes in the City of Petersburg and its neighboring areas.
Why It Matters: Addressing Health in Petersburg
Petersburg, Virginia, ranks 133 out of 133 localities in the state for health outcomes. This sobering statistic is a stark reminder of the health challenges facing our community, from chronic diseases to limited access to fitness and wellness resources. However, we are determined to make a difference.
With the generous support of the Cameron Foundation and access to spaces like The Petersburg Library and Virginia State University, we’re striving to transform the health of this community, one workout at a time.

Making a Difference in the Region
In addition to these classes at Virginia State University, we also offer other free fitness classes throughout the Petersburg area. From The Petersburg Library to community centers in Hopewell and Colonial Heights, our mission is to create accessible fitness opportunities for all. Together, we can help Petersburg and surrounding counties become healthier, more active communities.
How You Can Help
If you’re passionate about improving the health and wellness of our community, there are many ways to get involved! Join us at any of our weekly fitness classes, all of which are free and open to people of all fitness levels. Your participation helps us build a healthier, more active community.
Not in the area? No problem! We encourage you to check out our full list of classes on our website at RVAFitnessWarriors.org, or invite a friend to attend a class near them. Every small action helps strengthen our mission to make Petersburg and the surrounding counties healthier.
