Coaching Support

Sports Backers depends on the teachers and community volunteers who give their time to lead and assist at kids running, walking, and fitness clubs each school year. It is a priority for us to assist them the best way we can. We provide support in the form of trainings and clinics, such as our New Coaches Clinic that is held each fall and our fall and spring Coaches Kick-Offs, which serve to foster camaraderie amongst our superstar coaches and impart important information for participating clubs.

We have many resources to offer coaches, including coaching handbooks, fitness activities, as well as permission slips and other helpful forms. We don’t want you to have to reinvent the wheel! All of these resources, and more, can be accessed in our Coaches Resource Folder.

Once a coach has gone through our New Coach Training, they will start to receive our bi-monthly Coaches Corner Newsletter and can join our Coaches Only Facebook group. These are just two of the ways that we stay in touch with our coaches on an ongoing basis. Sports Backers’ Director of Youth Programs, Jacki Quinlan, is always just a phone call, text, or email away for troubleshooting, answering questions, or anything else our coaches may need. She can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at 804-218-7947.
