Written by: Nan Callahan, PR & Communications Manager

RICHMOND, VA – The 2025 Allianz Richmond Marathon is set to make history, with all three distances—the full marathon, CarMax Richmond Half Marathon, and VCU Health Richmond 8k completely sold out. More than 21,000 runners from all 50 states and 24 countries will take to the streets of Richmond on Saturday, November 15, marking the largest field in event history.
This milestone solidifies the Allianz Richmond Marathon as one of America’s premier running events. Renowned for its fast, scenic course, downhill finish, and unmatched community support, it’s no wonder it’s earned the nickname “America’s Friendliest Marathon.” Each year, runners return to Richmond in pursuit of personal bests, unforgettable experiences, and a finish-line celebration like no other.
Festivities for the 48th running of the Allianz Richmond Marathon kick off with the Health & Fitness Expo at the Richmond Raceway infield, open Thursday, November 13 (3–7 p.m.) and Friday, November 14 (11 a.m.–8 p.m.). Runners can enter through Gate 4 or Gate 6. A QR code or photo ID is required for packet pickup, and participants may collect packets for other registered runners with a copy of their ID. Please note: no distance changes or deferrals can be processed at the expo.
New this year, the expo will host three live panel discussions on Friday, offering inspiration and insight for runners of all levels:
- 12:30 p.m. – “Revolutionizing the Running Landscape” presented by Game Changers, moderated by Vanessa Peralta-Mitchell and featuring Coaches Athena Farias, Becky Croft, Tia Pettygrue, and Tiffany Copeland.
- 2:00 p.m. – “Celebrate Your Journey, Fuel Your Confidence” with Jenn & Jenny of Stride Forward.
- 3:15 p.m. – “What the Tough Miles Teach You” featuring Lindsey Hein and Trevor Spencer in conversation with local professional runner Sophia King.
All panels are free and open to the public, with first-come, first-served seating at Victory Lane Stage.
Race weekend culminates with the CoStar Group Post Race Party on Brown’s Island, featuring live music, food and drinks, medal engraving, complimentary massages and stretching, interactive sponsor zones, and plenty of photo ops. The celebration runs until 2:30 p.m. and is free for runners, friends, and family. Complete event details are available at www.RichmondMarathon.org.
