Ryan Mccracken

Ryan McCracken is the Development Manager at Sports Backers, where he helps keep fundraising running smoothly and donors feeling appreciated. He supports fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, special events, and President’s Council activities by making sure every gift is processed, recognized, and put to work.

Ryan stays active by running and enthusiastically joining any pickup sport. In the spirit of extreme humility, he has placed in the Allianz Richmond Marathon and won the inaugural Virginia Credit Union River City Half (but who’s keeping track?). You’ll often find him on Richmond’s dirt trails, at Riverside Drive and Pony Pasture, Pocahontas State Park, or Bandy Field. On a day off, he enjoys wandering the city, catching a movie, and grabbing a bite to eat. A History grad from the College of William & Mary, Ryan also spends his free time playing weekly wiffleball, taking part in D&D campaigns, and reading with friends.

Favorite Sports Backers Event? “The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k. It was the first large race I participated in, and I get to see so many familiar faces come together and participate in something I care a lot about. Always an occasion that brings a lot of friends into town!”

Favorite non-Sports Backers Event? “Folk Festival – feels distinctly Richmond, allows me to see more of the country and the world from right in my hometown, and it’s free!”
