Registration nearing 24,000; Health & Fitness Expo to be held April 18-19
RICHMOND, VA – The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k presented by Kroger is returning to Monument Avenue to kick off the spring event season on Saturday, April 20. Organizers are expecting around 24,000 registrants with spots available at www.sportsbackers.org.
The 10k will celebrate its 25th running this year, and over half a million participants have taken part in that time. The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k will again serve as the Collegiate Running Association (CRA) 10k Road Race National Championship, with several thousand collegiate runners participating in the race and competing for $3,500 in prize money provided by the CRA to the top collegiate finishers. The event also features a one-mile kids fun run, the Atlantic Union Bank 10k Mini, that is sold out with 1,200 participants.
The Health & Fitness Expo will be held at the infield of the Richmond Raceway on Thursday, April 18, from 3 p.m.-7 p.m., and Friday, April 19 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The expo is free and open to the public and will feature over 30 vendors, live music, sponsor giveaways, food trucks, and will serve as the site for Packet pick-up for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k and Atlantic Union Bank 10k Mini. Registration will be available online up until 9:30am on race morning. Participants that register online must pick up their packet. Expo attendees should enter Richmond Raceway using Gate 4 off of Laburnum Avenue, or Gate 6 off of Carolina Avenue. Free parking is available at the Expo. All participants must show a photo ID to pick up their packet or a QR code. Expo attendees may pick up another registered participant’s packet but must bring a copy or picture of that participant’s photo ID.
Race-day Packet Pick-Up will be available on Saturday, April 20, from 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. It will take place outside of the Siegel Center, adjacent to the start line at Broad St. and Harrison St. A full schedule of events for the 2024 Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k presented by Kroger can be found below, or at https://www.sportsbackers.org/events/monument-ave-10k/10k-schedule/.
