Sports backers new office & active Living Hub
The new home of Sports Backers office and Active Living Hub on the Fall Line trail offers an exciting opportunity to engage the community.

The Fall Line trail dissects Sports Backers new office location, a former bank branch property on Lakeside Avenue, now owned by Henrico County where they will build a trailhead with restrooms and parking.
Sports Backers is raising $1.3 million to renovate this building for its new headquarters and to serve as a regional hub for active living. The building offers ample space for Sports Backers staff along with a group fitness studio, meeting space, and unmatched connectivity to the Fall Line, a 43-mile separated paved trail which is a signature project spearheaded by Sports Backers.
Active Living Hub
Sports Backers’ newly renovated home is now open—a mission-driven space designed to energize, connect, and inspire. Located along the Fall Line, our headquarters serves as both our operational base and a vibrant hub of community activity.
The building features office space, a multi-purpose fitness and training room, a community meeting room, programmable outdoor areas, and direct trail access. With these amenities, we’re now able to host over 11,000 people annually for group fitness classes, youth coaching sessions, advocacy trainings, and community partner meetings—all in one place.
Our team can now focus more time and energy on impact, thanks to an on-site fitness room and flexible meeting space that eliminate the need to search for outside venues. Tens of thousands of area residents will pass through our new space along the Fall Line each year. Our vision is to create a place with an open invitation to everyone in the region to join us in our mission to inspire active living!

Support the Campaign
An investment in this $1.3 million campaign is an investment in the active living future of the region. Thanks to generous supporters, our new Lakeside Avenue home is already serving as a vibrant hub for community events, trainings, and active living initiatives—but we’re not done yet.
For over 30 years, Sports Backers has energized the region through large-scale participatory events, inclusive training teams, free group exercise classes, youth fitness clubs, and advocacy for safe, accessible biking and walking infrastructure. This new space strengthens our ability to connect with the community, bring partners together, and expand our impact.
With your continued support, we can fully realize the potential of this mission-driven space and ensure it remains a powerful resource for years to come. Join us in building a more active, connected, and healthy region—every contribution makes a difference.
