Costume Contest
When it comes to the CarMax Tacky Light Run, it doesn’t matter who’s the fastest…we just want to see who has the most holiday spirit! Dig out your grandmother’s favorite holiday sweater, charge those battery packs, and buy all the garland you can afford, because the competition for a coveted Top 5 Costume Award is as serious as Santa!
If you would like to participate in the costume contest, you can check in from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Contest Check In tent in Mid-Lothian Mines Park.
Prize: Top 5 winners will be given a $20 Wegman’s gift card.

Neighborhood Superlatives
The CarMax Tacky Light Run Neighborhood Superlative Contest is back! This spirited competition celebrates the most eye-catching, dazzling, and over-the-top holiday decorations, showcasing the very best of the Walton Park Neighborhood and the cheeriest parties around! The Neighborhood Superlatives determine and celebrate the neighborhood’s famous tacky light displays, bringing together community pride and holiday cheer at this season’s most illuminated event!
House Superlatives:
- Overall Tackiest
- Three finalists will be announced prior to the event on Saturday, December 13. Participants are then invited to help determine and celebrate the neighborhood’s famous tacky light displays by voting for the Overall Tackiest House throughout the duration of the event and via social media! Votes will be tallied post event and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, December 17.

How to Enter the Party Superlatives Contest:
- Register your party! (for Walton Park residents only)
- Display the “official sign” (provided by event organizers) on the night of the CarMax Tacky Light Run. This will help our judges quickly know that you’re taking part in the party superlatives.
- Have fun!
