What happens if the half or 5k sells out?
When the half or 5k reaches full capacity, registration for that event will close. Additionally, this means participants will not be able to switch race distances.

What are the age requirements for each race?
To participant in the Ashland Half Marathon, you must be at least 12 years old.
To participant in the Ashland 5k, you must be at least 6 years old.
Can i Make Changes to my REgistration?
Yes! In order to make changes to your registration, please follow these directions. Email [email protected] with any questions.
What are the cancellation or deferral policies?

Can I switch races?
You may switch races up until the event begins or until the event reaches capacity, whichever happens first.
- Switching from the Half Marathon to the 5K: There is a $10 transfer fee.
- Switching from the 5K to the Half Marathon: There is a $10 transfer fee plus the difference in event price at the time of transfer.
How to Switch:
From Half Marathon to 5K: Follow the provided steps to complete your transfer.
From 5K to Half Marathon: Request the switch at Packet Pickup or email [email protected].
Do you offer a virtual event?
Yes! No matter your reason, we do offer a virtual option for the event so that you can still be a part of the Ashland Half Marathon and 5k. Click here to learn more about our virtual option.
Course and Event Day
Are there Course Time Limits?
The Ashland Half Marathon has a 3.5 hour time limit. The Ashland 5k has a 1.5 hour time limit.
Is the course Certified?
Yes, the course is certified by the USATF.
Will there be bag check?
No, the Ashland Half Marathon and 5k does not have bag check.
Can I use a stroller or wear a baby carrier?
No, strollers and baby carriers are not permitted on course for either the half marathon or the 5k.
Where Can I park on race morning?
The Start Line is located at N Railroad Ave & College Ave. We encourage carpooling to ensure ample race day parking options for all. Parking is available in these locations:
- North Brock Parking Lot: 400 Center St Ashland, VA 23005 (Map Location J)
- Physical Plant Parking Lot: 115 N. Railroad Ashland, VA 23005 (Map Location B)
- Old Tennis Court Parking Lot: 100 W. Patrick Street Ashland, VA 23005 (Map Location M)
- Visitor Parking Lot: 203 Caroline Street Ashland, VA 23005 (Map Location T)

Please do not park in the Town Hall lot in the road in front of Town Hall. The Ashland Farmers Market is using this space starting at 7:30am on Saturday morning.

In order to provide a safe and great race experience for all, we don’t allow pets, bicycles, strollers, or inline skates…to name a few. Read more about our Event Policies.
How can I become a sponsor or vendor?

Do you offer income-based rates?

Where can I find race results?
You can find race results for the Ashland Half Marathon and 5k by visiting our registration platform.
Are there awards?
Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first-place male and female masters finishers. All results will be based on chip time, and awards will be mailed following the race.
