Show Megan the money! Megan powers the mission of Sports Backers through philanthropy. As Director of Development, she raises support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and local jurisdictions to keep our programs and events thriving. She knows how to turn passion into action and inspire others to do the same.
A Randolph-Macon College graduate and basketball alumna, Megan loves staying active by running, walking, or hitting a workout. She can’t pick just one favorite spot outdoors in Richmond — the region is full of parks, playgrounds, and neighborhoods to explore. On her days off, she’s usually on an adventure trying a new restaurant or exploring a new place, or spending quality time with her husband, two kids, and two dogs.

Favorite Sports Backers Event? “Favorite SB event of all time is the 3 on 3 basketball tournament from back in the day. I loved participating and spending time with Richmond’s basketball community. Favorite current SB event is the Richmond Marathon because seeing people complete a goal, they trained so long and hard for is an emotional and rewarding experience.”
Favorite non-Sports Backers Event? “Broad Street Run in Philadelphia because I do it every year with family.”
