Named one of the best races in the country (thanks, USA Today!), Richmond’s biggest block party is the place to be on April 1st. With 30,000 participants, you’re bound to be entertained— whether it’s by costumed runners, Spirit Groups, live music, or the beautiful, flat course. Throw in a race for kids and a rockin’ post-race party, and you’ve got yourself one of the best social events of the year!
Need help preparing? Join the YMCA 10k Training Team or the Virtual 10k Training Team!
YMCA member or not, training for Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k with a team may be just what you need to get to the finish line, meet some new running buddies, and get motivated to be fit and active. This is a program for both runners and walkers. With help from motivational coaches and teammates, we can work together to conquer 6.2 miles! We’re now offering a Virtual YMCA 10k Training Team–train on your own and enjoy the team perks!
Invite your kids to be part of the 10k fun at the Virginia529 Kids Run!
This one-mile event for kids ages 5-12 features all of the excitement of the 10k. They’ll kick off the morning by warming up with music and mingling with some local mascots until the start gun goes off. After racing their little hearts out, they’ll finish to the roar of a crowd through the same chute as the 10k-ers, where they’ll get a commemorative medal and head into a secure meeting area.
