Marathon Jr. online registration closes Thursday night!

Anthem Richmond Marathon

Like its companion races, the American Family Fitness Half Marathon and the VCU Health 8k, the Anthem Richmond Marathon has a scenic course that winds through the city’s most historic and beautiful neighborhoods and runs over and along the James River. We love to show off the river so much that we even moved our finish line and post-race party to the riverfront.

Richmond, VA
Intersection of 5th St.
and Broad St.

We’ve earned our rep as “America’s Friendliest Marathon” (thanks Runner’s World!) because of features like our junk food stops and wet washcloth stations – even an online registration system that doesn’t hit you with extra fees to sign up! But the perks don’t end there.  As you run, you’ll encounter live bands, DJs, spirit groups and Party Zones that will help push you through to the finish. Then, after the race, you can kick back and relax on Brown’s Island and celebrate with hot pizza and cold BEER. Run Richmond once and you, too, will know why we’re “America’s Friendliest Marathon!”

We LOVE this event. But hey, we’re probably a little biased. So here’s what others are saying:
“A marathon that has it all: a fun expo, great weather, a scenic course, fantastic crowd support, all complimented by a smoothly orchestrated organization.”
– KC, Glen Allen, VA

“Big thanks for putting on an amazing race. The crowd support and volunteers gave me a much needed boost. So many smiling faces and high fives made me want to run faster. I’d recommend this race to anyone.”
– FT, Wake Forest, NC

“Thanks for another great race. This was my 27th marathon and my 4th Richmond Marathon in a row. Awesome support on the course, great organization and the pizza at the end tasted soooo good. Richmond rocks!”
– KCK, Silver Spring, MD

Runner’s World Editors
