I Am Thankful

I AM THANKFUL

. . . for heath, family, friends and running, [and] that I have a spouse who enjoys running, traveling and celebrating running milestones and accomplishments together.  – Katie

. . . for the blessing of many years of good health, and the joy of running, tennis, basketball, cycling and surfing.  I'm also thankful for the support of a loving family, for impending hip surgery, and the resulting possibility of returning to at least some of the sports I've enjoyed over the years. – Steve

. . . for my treadmill desk. – Jon

. . . for a brother who serves as a healthy and positive role model.  – Anon.

. . . that I’m fortunate to have access to indoor tennis courts so I can play throughout the winter! – Anon.

. . . for my family and friends to run and bike with. During the week, my husband and I do our miles on a track together. On the weekend, I do a long run with my friends, the girlies. – Mary

. . . for my running crew and their support [throughout my recovery from injury]. – David

. . . for a workplace that encourages wellness – walking while meeting and purchasing stability balls to use instead of chairs! – Mary

. . . for my Yurbuds holder for my iPhone.  It makes it simple and fun to have a new playlist every time I run! – Kelly

. . . for the color-changing trees on Monument on long runs, my Body Pump gym buddy Sarah, and the perfect running weather during fall in Richmond! – Liz

. . . for health and strength to overcome not only the miles on the road, but also to overcome the hard times in life when you want to throw in the towel. When I cross the line now, it is a celebration of the fact that I didn't quit. – Tasya

. . . for seeing my 8-year-old son run his first race at the Maymont Cross Country Festival. – Mary

. . . for my husband – he has been so supportive of my fitness goals [and] held down the fort at home taking care of our two little ones while I met up with my 8kTT to exercise.  I was able to complete the whole training program with his support and encouragement, and ran the race in 1:06:27!  – Samantha

. . . for all my workout buddies who ride, run, hike and eat with me on a regular basis.  –  Anon.

. . . that I joined Zacharias-Ganey Health Institute and am on a wonderful journey to become healthier, happier and more physically fit than I've ever been. And that Sports Backers created the 8k Training Team & that I was asked to be a volunteer coach – Pam

. . . that I live in this beautiful city.  As I was running down Sheppard through the museum district today . . . the sun was just peeking through the leaves of the tall trees that line the street, and it was peaceful and charming.  – Ginny

. . . for the support that communities, cities, volunteers, and others put into the hosting and continuing the tradition of races, regardless of the distance. – Katie

. . . for a body that allows me to participate in endurance sports, my children who love being active with me, and my likeminded friends that keep me motivated! – Lisa
