  • Is the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k going to happen in September?  Yes! We have come up with some great options for participants. We have four official 10k courses for you to choose from.
  • Do I need to do anything to my registration if I decide to participate on an Official Course or virtually?  Nothing, you are in! However, if you want to opt into packet mailing you need to update your registration
    • Adding packet mailing after you have registered: Sign into you RunSignup account > Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration (next to event editing) > Shipping > Edit Shipping Information > Update Address. 
  • Can I defer my 2020 10k race entry to 2021?  Yes, you can defer your entry for one year.  The deferral deadline is September 11 and there is no cost to do so.
    • Sign into your RunSignup account > Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Defer Registration.
    • Note:  YMCA 10k Training Team participants cannot defer their race entry since it is a benefit of training.
  • How do I request an event credit?  You have the option to credit the cost of your Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k entry fee to another Sports Backers event that takes place through March 27, 2021. The deadline to request an event credit is September 11. Please do so by completing this form.
  • Can I refund my registration?  At Sports Backers, like most other running and event organizers, we do have a no-refund policy, that you agreed to during the registration process. We know during these challenging times, this is a particularly tough decision but we do need to remain consistent with this policy. At this point most of our expenses have been incurred.
  • Can I defer my Training Team entry?  Training Team members can defer their race entry only to the 2021 event. Training team members received 8 weeks of training prior to the shutdown due to the pandemic. In addition, training began again on July 18th to get ready for the race in September. Our policy for the YMCA 10k Training Team is that participants can defer their entry up until the program starts. After the start of the program, we do not offer deferrals.
  • Why can’t Training Team participants receive an event credit? Our policy for the YMCA 10k Training Team is that participants can defer their entry up until the program starts. After the start of the program, we do not offer deferrals. We are able to subsidize the cost of entry and provide a free entry as part of the training program. We knew during these challenging times, the date change would affect some people, so we decided to amend the policy to allow the complimentary entry to transfer to next year. However, since training members received 8 weeks of training and we incurred all the associated expenses from running the program, we are unable to give a credit.
  • I purchased the event insurance, how do I make a claim?  The event insurance is through Allianz.  Shortly after you registered you should had received an email from Allianz with information on how to make claim.  To manage your policy or file a claim, visit www.eventregistrationprotection.com.  If you have questions regarding your insurance, contact Allianz Global Assistance at 1-888-497-6987.
  • How do I opt into free Packet Mailing? 
    • Adding packet mailing after you have registered: Sign into you RunSignup account > Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration (next to event editing) > Shipping > Edit Shipping Information > Update Address. 
  • Can I make changes to my registration information?  Directions to updating your registration. 

Race

  • Where can I pick up my packet? Packet pick up will take place during the Health & Fitness Expo at the Diamond (3001A N. Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia 23230) on Thursday, September 24 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Friday, September 25 from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm.  More Expo details can be found here.
  • Can someone else pick up my packet for me?  Yes, but they will need a copy of your photo ID.  The copy can be presented electronically (on their phone) or a physical copy.
  • Where can I find Course Maps, Parking Maps & Information? Yes, the maps and course information can be found on our website.
