Registration Block Two Open for Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k
The second registration block for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k presented by MARTIN’S is now open, with registration rates of $35 for adults and $25 for youth age 14 and under. Registration for the YMCA 10k Training Team is also open at a rate of $60, which includes race entry and a 10-week training program led by experienced coaches. The first registration block sold out in 11 days, and once all entries in Block Two are filled, registration will close again and reopen at a later date and higher price.
The 17th annual Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k presented by MARTIN’S is set for Saturday, April 9, 2016. In addition to 10k and Training Team registration, entries are also being accepted for the Virginia529 Kids Run. Information on all events can be found at www.sportsbackers.org.
Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k to Host 10k Road Race National Championship
The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k will again serve as host to the 2016 Collegiate Running Association 10K Road Race National Championships. This will mark the third consecutive year that some of the nation’s top college students will compete for the national championship in Richmond.
The entry list for the past two years has included U.S. national champions, U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifiers, current and former NCAA All-Americans, representatives from various college running clubs, and first-time 10k runners. A total of over 5,000 combined college students registered for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K in 2014 and 2015 and more than 2,000 indicated that they never completed a 10k race before.
