Runner’s World Magazine launches training app for Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k

01/30/2012

RICHMOND, VA – For the second consecutive year, editors from Runner’s World Magazine will travel to Richmond to take part in the community’s signature road race, the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k. But this year, they have launched a special SmartCoach Plus training app for the March 31 event targeted to those participants looking to shave a few minutes off their finishing time.

With SmartCoach Plus runners can improve their finish time, and increase their endurance, and ultimately achieve their personal best at the 10k on March 31st.   Runner’s World SmartCoach Plus gives runners total control of their training with these amazing features developed by experts:

  • Personalized plans! Enter a few simple variables, like age, past finish times and difficulty, and SmartCoach Plus creates a plan just for you.  Unlike other plans, which are filled with pre-set workouts,  the SmartCoach Plus program is fully customizable.
  • Overcome challenges! SmartCoach Plus adjusts as you encounter challenges in your training, like sickness, injury, or if the plan is too difficult for you.  Simply change your difficulty level and you’re back on track.
  • Get Optimal Results!  Every workout — long run or speed — is based on pace for optimal results.
  • Never miss a workout! With daily e-mail reminders designed to keep you on track, you’ll just have to grab your running shoes and get started!

More details about the Runner’s World SmartCoach training program can be found on www.sportsbackers.org.
