Go a step further and contribute to the Valentine Richmond History Center and Historic Richmond Foundation. These private, non-profit organizations collect, preserve and interpret the region’s rich history, from the smallest artifacts to buildings in jeopardy, from Robert E. Lee’s boots to Old City Hall, from the sign from the Mosque to the National Theater.
Your gift helps acquire and care for objects, clothing and photographs; supports low-cost field trips and after school programs for schoolchildren; underwrites walking tours, bus tours, and neighborhood educational programs; and helps protect and preserve buildings such as Monumental Church, the Patteson-Schutte House and St. John’s Mews.
History runs right through yesterday, and we want you to be a part of it. Help tell Richmond’s story by contributing to the Valentine Richmond History Center and Historic Richmond Foundation.
The Valentine Richmond History Center preserves and interprets Richmond's unique history for a diverse audience through exhibitions, educational programs, city tours, research resources, special events and stewardship of the Wickham House (1812). For more than a century, the History Center has served the community from the heart of downtown Richmond and is an active voice in the discussion of the region's past, present and future.
Historic Richmond Foundation (HRF) is the conscience of the built environment for the City of Richmond. For 75 years, being the oldest preservation organization, HRF operates a revolving fund, under which it currently owns and maintains 9 historic properties, including Monumental Church, a National Historic Landmark. Past saves of HRF include St. John’s Old and Historic District, Linden Row, Old City Hall, the National Theater, and numerous other historic structures. Contributions will serve to support the preservation and maintenance of our historic properties.
