Jammin' on the James Kayak Boatercross

Saturday, May 16 - 1 p.m.
Belle Isle

Get ready for roller derby on the water. Heats of 4 kayaks and canoes will line up and race head to head down Hollywood rapid. The top 2 boats advance to the next round. Eventually we will have the final 4 competitors for the championship round of Boatercross.

The start will be just above Hollywood Rapid but below First Break. The finish will be 25 yards below the main drop in Hollywood. This short but sweet course will provide a dramatic finish through the big drop in Hollywood.
 

What:

 Head to head Canoe and Kayak race down the James River.
 
When: Saturday, May 16, beginning at 1 p.m.
 
Where: The start will be just above Hollywood Rapid but below First Break. The finish will be 25 yards below the main drop in Hollywood. This short but sweet course will provide a dramatic finish through the big drop in Hollywood.  Packet pick up and post race awards will take place on Belle Isle the day of the race.
 
Cost: $15 per person online through May 14
$20 per person on Race Day
Race fee includes:  a cool event t-shirt, post-race food and other fun stuff.
 
Register: Online through May 14.
 

On Race Day from Noon till 1 p.m. on Belle Isle.

There is NO mail-in/fax registration.  Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
 
Packet Pick up: Race numbers and packet pick up will be held on Belle Isle from Noon - 1 p.m.
 
Entry Confirmation: Click here to see if your entry has been received.  No confirmations will be mailed.
 
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 men and top 3 women.
 
Event Charity: The James River Fund is the official charity of Dominion Riverrock. The Sports Backers and Venture Richmond have created the James River Fund to provide grants to volunteer groups working to enhance recreational use of the public parks along the James River. When you register, please consider making a donation to James River Fund to provide funds for improved river access, clean up activities and trail construction and maintenance.
