Looking for a way to spend your summer of love? Here’s something we know you’ll dig: Peace, Love & Mud….with a little 5k(ish) run in between.

JOIN US for the first annual Henricus Mudstock—A 5kish mud run through Henricus Historical Park. Afterwards sit back with a cold one, get funky at the post-race dance party, and let the music heal your soul. Grab your brothers and sisters and come jam with us. We’ll bring the good vibes…and just remember mud is all you need!

*Only available if the race has not reached its 2,000-person capacity. If you are under the age of 18, you must have your parent/guardian accompany you at walk-up.

Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on June 26.

TEAM REBATES: The more, the merrier! Recruit your friends and register as a team to knock some dollars off your entry fee. Teams of 6 or more will receive a rebate of $3/team member. For more information on Team Rebates, click here.

Cost Includes:

  • Recovery food and a complimentary soda or beer (bring your ID!) at the post-race festival

Entries are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be deferred to another year.

Details

  • To ensure a smooth start, you will be organized into groups (selected during registration):
    • Rock 'n' Rollers – 8 min. miles or faster
    • Rolling Stones – 9 min. miles
    • The Drifters – 9:00 to 9:30 min. miles
    • The Wanderers – 9:30 to 10:30 min. miles
    • The Grateful Dead – 10:30 min. miles or slower*
  • Each group will be subdivided into 15 waves to alleviate congestion on the trails.
  • The event is NOT timed.
  • The Henricus Mudstock is limited to 1,500 participants.
  • Please arrive well in advance of the start, to allow time for picking up your race packet.

Packet Pick-up

T-shirt and packet pick up will be available at Henricus Historical Park, beginning at 4 p.m. on event day, Saturday, June 28. A photo ID is required to pick up your race packet.

Bag Check

Bag check is available near the Start/Finish. You may also “check” your ID if you’d like a beer at the finish.

Course

The 5k(ish) course starts and finishes at Henricus Historical Park after winding through Dutch Gap… but it’s not just your average walk in the park. This course is packed with plenty of peace, love and, of course, MUD along the way to keep you entertained and having FUN!

Tips & Safety

  • Wear your grungy clothes and sneakers - they probably won't be going home with you!
  • Bring a big trash bag, dry clothes and a towel for afterwards.
  • Leave your jewelry and anything items of value at home.
  • This is a TRAIL run – in addition to our man-made mud stations, be cautious of rocks, roots, etc.
  • Do NOT dive head first into the mud pits.

Event Charity - Kids Run RVA

By building a healthier, more vibrant place to live, work and play through Kids Run RVA, our children will learn healthy habits to last a lifetime.  Thousands of Richmond-area youth participate in the Sports Backers’ youth running programs each year and we are committed to growing the scope and capacity of these programs in order to fight the growing childhood obesity epidemic.  From providing free entries in our youth running events to basic necessities such as proper athletic shoes, Kids Run RVA places a special emphasis on supporting students at underserved schools in the Richmond region.  All of our programs instill a consistent habit of physical activity that will continue to flourish into adolescence and adulthood.

Race Photos

The muddier the teeth, the better the picture! Marathonfoto will be snapping shots of all racers. Pics will be available on their site in the days after the race.

Directions:

From I-95 North or South:

  • Take Exit 61A
  • Follow Route 10 (Ironbridge Road) to first stoplight
  • Turn at left at first stoplight onto Route 732 (Old Stage Road) approx. 2 miles
  • Turn right at first stop sign onto Route 615 (Coxendale Road) approx. 1 mile
  • Turn right onto Henricus Park Road and follow for 1.3 miles
  • Arrive at Henricus Historical Park!

Parking:

A limited number of parking spaces are available within walking distance to the site. These spaces will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Additional parking is available off-site, where shuttles will pick up participants, spectators and volunteers and transport them to the event site. Allow 30 minutes to get from these lots to the event site.

Please note: Shuttles will begin service at 4:00pm and the last shuttle will leave Henricus Historical Park at 9:30pm.
