What’s better than hitting up a Thirsty Thursday happy hour with your coworkers? How about challenging them to a 4-mile race THEN throwing back a few to the tunes of a live local band? Better yet, show your boss who’s REALLY boss by beating him/her across the finish line. If you ARE the boss, you can compete in the CEO division to earn some bragging rights. And we all know nothing says team bonding like a little friendly competition… or banding together to take down that evil industry rival from across town.

At the Connects Federal Credit Union Corporate 4-Miler, you can promote health in the work place and build corporate pride - or just use it as an excuse to head outdoors for a great summer night with friends.  With post-event festivities featuring food, drinks, live music and fun, it's quickly grown into Richmond’s biggest office party.

Cost

Through April 30 $25 (per team member)
May 1 – June 4 $30 (per team member)

Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Monday, June 4.

Cost includes:

  • Participant t-shirt
  • Complimentary soft drink or beer
  • Post-race food

Entries are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be deferred to another year.

Schedule

Wednesday, June 6

11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Packet Pick-Up at the Hilton Garden Inn (Each team captain must pick up the entire team’s race packets.)

Thursday, June 7

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Packet Pickup at the Hilton Garden Inn
4 – 6:30 p.m. Packet Pick-Up near the Start (Apex Systems parking lot)
7:00 p.m. Race starts
7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Post-Race Office Party on the campus of Dominion (Innsbrook Technical Center)

Registration

Step 1: Team Captains create your team:

Step 2: Once your team is set up, individuals can begin registering themselves:

Individuals not part of a team may select the “Fit4Kids” team to represent the event’s official charity.

Bulk Registration

Bulk codes must be used before registration closes and there are no refunds for unused registrations.  If you’re not sure how many you’ll need, buy a smaller number and purchase more as needed.  Once a bulk registration entry has been used, it cannot be transferred to another person.

Packet Pick-up

Each Team Captain must pick up his or her team's race packets during one of the designated times (see schedule above). Individuals may also pick up their packet up at these times.

A photo ID is required for individual packet pick up. You may pick up a packet for someone else as well, provided you have a copy of their photo ID.

Rules

  • Baby joggers/strollers, bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, and dogs will be prohibited from the course.
  • You must be 8 years old to participate. Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

New! American Family Fitness 4-Mile Training Team

You’ve heard about our great training teams, now’s the time to join the fun!  The inaugural American Family Fitness 4-Mile Training Team starts the week of April 15 and will get you ready for the Connects Federal Credit Union Corporate 4-Miler.

It’s much easier to train with a group than on your own, so sign up for the training team today!  The training schedule and group atmosphere will hold you accountable and keep you fit and active to make the Connects Federal Credit Union Corporate 4-Miler an amazing experience!  This is a program for all levels of runners and walkers.  You’re guaranteed to meet fun people along the way.  With the help from motivational coaches and teammates, we can all work together to conquer 4 miles!

Greater Richmond Fit4Kids Recess Coaches 

Using energy, imagination, and proven techniques, Fit4Kids Recess Coaches cultivate an inclusive environment that encourages all children to be active and play during recess regardless of athletic ability, weight, or disability. With your support, the Fit4Kids Recess Coaching program will be launched at several schools in the greater Richmond area in September '12. Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is a non-profit organization created to improve the health and wellness of children by increasing physical activity and promoting healthy eating.
