Team Name
Each team that enters comes up with a team name. This is your chance to be creative, though keep in mind the names must be appropriate. We reserve the right to reject any team name deemed inappropriate. If this happens the team name will become the team captain’s last name.

Divisions

Standard
This is the division intended for most participants in the U.S. Army 3 on 3 Summer Hoops. It will include players of all abilities, from those that play basketball regularly to those players that play on the rare occasion. Our mission will be to bracket the teams as fairly as possible, based on the information provided by each team on their entry form. We will offer male, female, and co-ed team options in each age category. As a co-ed team you must have one player of each sex on the court at all times.

Youth: Grades 3-8
High School: Grades 9-12
Adult: 18 & up

A team member’s age will be based on their age on July 25, 2009 and grade level based on the 2009-2010 school year. The oldest player’s age or grade level will be used to determine which age category the team will be placed in.

Elite
This division aims to target the most talented adult teams from around the Mid-Atlantic. It is designed for those teams that can truly compete with the best of the best. We will accept a limited number of entries for both the adult men’s elite and the adult women’s elite divisions. Elite division teams may not be co-ed.

Elite Division Criteria:

  1. 2 of the 4 team members must have college basketball experience.
  2. Team members must be actively still playing basketball on a regular basis.
  • You must be able to prove your college basketball experience.
  • All Elite teams will be designated at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
