Healthy School Challenge Winners Announced!
We have a simple way for you to raise funds and make the students at your school healthier at the same time by participating in the 10K Healthy School Challenge. The 10K Healthy School Challenge is a contest to see what middle school or high school can have the most students sign up for the award-winning Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k which takes place on Saturday, March 27. All you have to do is sign up your club as the official group working on the project from your school. After that it is up to the students to sign up to participate in the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k (6.2 miles).
Follow these 4 easy steps:

Register your school group
In order to qualify for the cash prizes and to register your group, please complete the 10k Healthy School Challenge registration form and return it to us by Friday, Feb., 26. Only one group will be allowed to represent each school and we will accept the first officially-affiliated group that submits the completed form from each school, so please keep that in mind as you consider participating.
Encourage classmates to enter the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k
Students are responsible for entering online or by picking up a brochure and mailing in their entry and payment. The students must enter their school’s name when they register. For more information about the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k, click here.
If you would like to distribute brochures about the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k to the students at your school, please email us at the address below and we will get them to you.
Final HSC results will be based on entries received by Tuesday, March 23, at 11:59pm when online registration closes, or when the 10k fills up, whichever comes first.
Get free training team t-shirts
The Sports Backers are providing t-shirts to participants in the Healthy School Challenge that have signed up for the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k by February 26, 2010. All students participating in the competition will receive a HSC t-shirt. But, if your school has more than 50 students registered by February 26, 2010, you will receive a customized t-shirt with your school color and name on it. For more information, click here.

New this year: We have added a "Small School Division" to our competition. This can be a high school or a middle school whose total student enrollment falls under 250 students. In other words, middle schools competing in this division will have a student population in grades 6-8 of 250 or less. High schools competing in this division will have 250 students or less enrolled in grades 9-12. Schools competing in the small school division must have a minimum of 10 students registered for the 10k in order to be eligible for cash prizes.
In addition, if your school has more than 100 students register then you automatically get $250.
The top middle school, high school and small school division winner will receive a special plaque recognizing their accomplishment as the 10K Healthy School Challenge winners. Just remember, you have to sign up to have a chance of winning.
